Shane and I are days aways from painting the living room...finally! Yes, we've been talking about it forever, but we were gun shy because we didn't have furniture. We kept looking for furniture and coming up with nothing. But that all came to an end this weekend, when we finally found a nice leather set that is both pretty and comfortable. Now that the furniture is on its way (coming at the end of next week), we were able to pick some paint. But paint is the point at which my head starts swirling, because it means all the other decor needs to come together. I think I have the curtains ready to go, but I need a rug...and dang are they expensive! So La Dolce Vita's Flor Giveaway couldn't come at a better time! I need to win a 5x7 set of my choice. However, me wanting to win doesn't stop me from sharing the chance at wealth with you. Head on over here and learn all the ways to enter!

I'm a Winner...Again!
Kelly over at Knit.Frog.Repeat (I love that name...so funny), just inforned that I am the winner of this stunning Brassy Apple Bunchy Scarf (but in teal...not purple). Isn't it great? She won two scarves from Portabellopixie and decided to give one away to a lucky winner. And that was me! Woohoo for contests and giveaways. I have to do more of them!

FujiMama, Come On Down!
FujiMama, you are the winner of the 2nd annual birthday giveaway! Yay!!! I'm very excited for you. I'll be emailing you separately to get your info so that I can get your prizes in the mail ASAP! Congrats!
And to everyone who played and shared your favorite yummy birthday treats, thank you! Here's a little Dexter reindeer love just for you! I do believe my dog is Forrest Gump when it comes to taking pictures. I have multiple shots with his eyes closed. But I actually find those shots cuter sometimes.
I made the reindeer antlers from felt. He hates them...but loves to chew on them. I think he thinks it's a soft bone.Friday, December 11, 2009

A Namaste Giveaway! Oh My!
OMG...this beautiful brand new Namaste bag is being given away over at Knit Purl Gurl. Seriously. I believe it was last January where I posted about the Namaste Zuma that I loved and adored and yet did not treat myself to for reasons of probably saving for a house. And now that I have said house, it's not like I can run right out and treat myself because rooms need to be painted, furniture needs to be purchased, and well, my dog needs to eat. So all I've got left is luck. Here's hoping being a December baby will work to my advantage and bring this bag home to me.Oh yeah, and you can enter too...I guess. I mean, the bag is ugly and all. You wouldn't want it. =)

Marie Angel, Come on Down!
A big hearty congratulations to Marie Angel! Of the nearly 350 entries, the Random.org selected #40 as the winner. Thanks to everyone for playing, sharing your craft pics, and for suggesting such great prizes! It was hard to pick which prize idea would be the best, so I decided on the "Your Wish Has Been Granted" prize. What does that mean? Basically, I would pick an item from something the entrant suggested and make that the prize. I'm grateful to Marie Angel because she offered lots of choices, and none of them were tropical vacation, mansions, or sports cars! Here's what Marie Angel said, "And for prize suggestions... bright colorful yarn, bamboo circular needles or crochet hooks, one of those cute yarn cutting gizmos that you can hang around your neck, sheep and angora goat toys."
I was intrigued by the cute yarn cutting gizmo, because as a knitter, I've never heard of this. I did a little Googling, and found some cute pendants, but it was in the Etsy shop Kelly Is Nice that I found a necklace that was simplybeautiful. So Miss Marie Angel, here's what you'll be receiving:

My 300th Post!
Yahoo! I made it to my 300th post...and just in time for the Sew, Mama, Sew May Giveaway Day! I think this calls for some sort of celebration. Hmm...I've been so busy knitting the shawl, that I wasn't able to make something in time for the big day. But, I want to commemorate the event. So let's do a giveaway...a surprise giveaway (it'll be surprise for all of us!). Maybe it will be craft supplies, a book, something I make, a gift card, or who knows...the options are endless! Just know that it will be crafty related, it'll be fun, and it'll make you smile. With that said, let's get this party started. See below on how to play:
- Leave a comment (and your email address) with a creative idea for what I could include in the giveaway. Deadline has been extended to end of day May 31. (1 entry)
- Blog about this contest and leave me a link with where to find the entry. (2 entries)
- Twitter about my contest and leave me a link. (2 entries)
- Show me a craft you've made in the past month that makes you happy by leaving me a link to a picture on your blog or Flickr page. (5 entries)

I Won!
No, not the Namaste bag (not YET, I mean!). I actually won cool iron-ons through a contest Chronicle Books posted on their blog and on Twitter. I'm stoked! The iron-ons were limited editions printed for Mike Perry's book, Iron Me On.
Below are two pictures from Chronicle's blog of OTHER people putting the transfers to good use (mine haven't come yet. Once they do, I'll post my own pictures).
To play, you had to be one of the first three people to email the Chronicle editor with the answers to these two questions.
1. What fashion line prominently featured James Jean’s work in its Spring 2008 collection?
2. What does the below print by Mike Perry say?

Win a Namaste Bag...(But, Really, You Don't Want It!)
Way back when, I told you about the wonders of the Namaste knitting bag. It looks like a beautiful trendy purse, but then it's all cool and granny knitting storage on the inside. Love!
Well Diva Knitting is giving one away...as in FREE! As in, I don't have to deplete my savings to buy my own! Er...if "I" am the one who actually wins it, that is. Because, you see, you too could enter. But really, you don't want to. I mean, it's a lot of work--all the pointing and clicking and typing. Don't you do enough of that all day? Trust me, you do. So let's pretend like I never mentioned any of this. Namaste bag? Huh? What are you talking about? Never heard of such a thing. Let's move on. ;)

Poor Patty...You're Just a Loser
Well, kids, Patty didn't win the big contest. All that lovely yarn will not be coming home to me. *sigh* But, I'm happy to say that my little Irish gal at least made a good showing--113 votes. Can't beat that. Below is the winner. She had 228 votes. Her scarf is beautiful, and I'm at least glad to see the yarn is going to a good home. Still, it would've been nice. Ah...to dream.

Tough Competition for Patty
Voting started on Saturday for the St. Patty's Day Irish theme competition on Ravelry, and Patty's doing OK, but she's not near the lead. As I write this, I believe she has around 80-something votes...yay! But below are some of the projects that are ahead of here (or darn close). I think the top one has the most (and well deserved since they're gorgeous!) at 120-something. Voting ends on March 27th, so if you have a Ravelry account, or know someone who does, be sure to go out and show your "love" (as in the love button) for Patty here.

Happy St. Patty's Day!
Cheers to you on this Irish of Irish days. Patty is all finished, complete with her green beer. I've never knit a beer before, and I did this one without a pattern. I think it turned out pretty decent. For all you Ravelry member readers, Patty is going to need your votes starting on the 19th (I'll post a link when it's available). Fingers crossed that she's as lucky for me as a four-leaf clover!
ETA: I thought the Ravelry Irish theme voting started today, but alas it starts March 19.
