I couldn't wait until St. Patty's Day to unveil Miss Patty. However, I'm planning to add a little knit beer to her hand and take some better pictures, so this is really only a sneak peek. I knit her body, dress, and shoes. Her hair and eyes are made from felt and then sewn on. And her lips and the shamrock on her dress were done by needle felting. I think she turned out pretty cute. Although she looks a little like she belongs in the Jim Henson family. Hmm...
I'm working on a little dolly at the moment, but I can't unveil her until St. Patrick's Day (or close to it). Miss Patty (as I'm currently calling her) is my entry into an Irish-theme St. Patrick's day contest on Ravelry. (And for all you Rav members, I'll need your votes!). Here she is so far. I was told she looks like a voodoo doll, and I suppose she kind of does. But once I get some features and some clothes on her, I'm hoping she'll be my winning ticket.
After my Burt the Gnome Gets Plowed post a few weeks ago, which featured my friend Therese's funny pictures of her gnome getting drunk, my big brother Sean challenged me to a new craft assignment. Sean is big into traveling on his motorcycle (see his blog) and asked me to come up with a travel buddy that he can carry along on (or in) his motorcycle and then take pictures in all the places to which he travels. When he asked me this, I was already knitting Kat for the doll swap, so I thought I'd make a less girly (and slightly smaller) version. So without further adieu, I give you Splat, the traveling road kat. Splat has a heart tatoo on his arm on which I needled felted the first initials of Sean's wife and two kids.
Splat has a twin brother Road Kill (pictures to come later) that I made this weekend for Sean to send on travels with his biking buddies. Every so often on my blog, I'll be featuring the "Adventures of the Easy Rider Twins" to show where my knitting has traveled. But Sean will definitely have a lot more pics (and stories) than me, so be sure to check his site, too.
Over the July 4th weekend, Sean came up on his bike to do some riding around Wisconsin. He'd ride during the day and spend the evenings (and mornings) with Shane and me. Here are some pics from the weekend.

Jessica, Shelley, and I swapped the dolls we made for our most recent challenge. To determine who got what doll, we each pulled a number from a hat (1, 2, or 3). Number 1 got 2's, number 2 got 3's, and number 3 got 1's. So I got Jessica's, Shelley got mine, and Jessica got Shelley's. Here are the cuties we made and exchanged:

I knitted and needle felted this kitty kat. And he now lives with Shelley and her three real kitties.

With the Mood Boards finished, Shelley, Jess and I are off and running with our next Craft Challenge. Shelley got to select this week's challenge, and the theme is Dolls. We each need to make one doll to be swapped on Monday, June 30. I think we'll probably just draw names to see who gets what doll. I had a couple of days off last week (which is when the challenge theme was actually selected), so my doll is ready to go. I wish I could show it now, but it must wait until after the reveal.
