Yahoo! I made it to my 300th post...and just in time for the Sew, Mama, Sew May Giveaway Day! I think this calls for some sort of celebration. Hmm...I've been so busy knitting the shawl, that I wasn't able to make something in time for the big day. But, I want to commemorate the event. So let's do a giveaway...a surprise giveaway (it'll be surprise for all of us!). Maybe it will be craft supplies, a book, something I make, a gift card, or who knows...the options are endless! Just know that it will be crafty related, it'll be fun, and it'll make you smile. With that said, let's get this party started. See below on how to play:
(Those are actually soaps! Find more like them by searching on Etsy...these sold after I posted them on my blog. ETA: To clear up some confustion, I didn't make these, although I wish I had since so many people love them!)
- Leave a comment (and your email address) with a creative idea for what I could include in the giveaway. Deadline has been extended to end of day May 31. (1 entry)
- Blog about this contest and leave me a link with where to find the entry. (2 entries)
- Twitter about my contest and leave me a link. (2 entries)
- Show me a craft you've made in the past month that makes you happy by leaving me a link to a picture on your blog or Flickr page. (5 entries)

happy happy blogiversary!!! I am always up for items handcrafted by others (it's nice when someone makes something for you, especially when your a crafter and can appreciate the work!) i blogged a link to you as well!
http://turtleslakeknitting.blogspot.com/
I think something sewn (like a quilty funky project bag) would be the bees' knees. :) Here's a scarf I just finished for a retiring coworker. I give it to her tomorrow at her send-off dinner. I hope she likes it as much as I do!

I love to win things! Anything, really. Being a quilter and a knitter, fabric or yarn would be lovely.
I'm running a similar contest on my blog, and I told them there about yours: http://tryingmydarnedest.blogspot.com/2009/05/ruffled-feathers-my-300th-post.html
I haven't yet posted the first prototype for the "perfect" knitting bag, but you can see some of my recent bag projects on my blog: http://tryingmydarnedest.blogspot.com/2009/05/some-of-my-bags.html
Is this open to family? In my competitive nature, I am in!
First of, congratulations Carrie! I read all of your posts. It's good to write about something your passionate about. Just reading your blog makes me update my own.
On that note, here is a link back to my blog for you 300! It is on Facebook too!
http://razorsride.blogspot.com/2009/05/my-sister-is-hitting-300.html
For prizes, I am thinking you sew a pillow with the cover of the movie 300! If not the movie, then go with a bowling theme with the perfect score 300.
That's about as creative as I get. You got that gene.
Congrats!
congrats on 300 posts! i am way behind you! bad blogger here!
anyway, here is a sock that made me happy! loved the beads, cables, lace, yarn, and the color.
http://bellybuttonknits.blogspot.com/2009/05/d-is-for.html
i will blog about your contest as soon as i leave this comment.
http://bellybuttonknits.blogspot.com/2009/05/e-is-for.html
and as far as prizes, i definitely think it should be some gorgeous sock yarn or lace yarn! yep, that's what i think.
Congratulations on #300. If most people are like me, they won't care what crafty item you include. Even if it's "old" to you, it's new to someone else :).
I have a couple of items I've made in the last month. One is my first felted bag (http://nulandnews.blogspot.com/2009/05/bags-o-plenty.html); ignore the fun fur bag - that one almost makes me un-happy.
Even more is the thread "purse" and tiny bear (http://nulandnews.blogspot.com/2009/04/mint-delight.html), but I wasn't sure if that counted because it's just on the edge of being over one month old.
First of all, congratulations on your 300th post! :)
It's always nice to read about something someone is passionate about.
As for something I've made in the past month that I'm happy about; I'd have to say publishing my very first pattern, free but still :) It's for a cell phone cozy and the link is http://gambitsview.blogspot.com/2009/05/my-very-first-design.html
And for prize suggestions... bright colorful yarn, bamboo circular needles or crochet hooks, one of those cute yarn cutting gizmos that you can hang around your neck, sheep and angora goat toys :)
MariAngel on Ravelry
Congrats on the 300th post!
It's not creative, but sock yarn is always a nice prize!
My favorite FO of mine this year is:

Congrats!
As for the prize...I'd love one of those yummy cupcake soaps. Although I'd probably have very dirty hands b/c they're too sweet to use :)
Knittingsuek on Ravelry
I agree! Those soap like very yummy!
Happy Blogiversary!

300?!? Seems like at least 600. (Kidding, Ca-wie!!!)
Still find your blog strangely compelling.
Anyways, I'd like a homemade, knitted beer koozie that says "Don't ruffle my feathers, dude!"
-- Digler
I'd really like to win some fabric! or something vintage.
Thanks
loko6@peak.org
Good golly-- 300 posts, congrats! Hmmm...you can never have too much fabric. I love tutorials, too.
cheers!

I've got to vote for fabric...because that gives someone endless possibilities.
Happy blogiversary! I love surprises - thanks for a great giveaway!
A surprise, WooHoo! You could include some fun fur, I'm really lovin' adding fun fur to my projects! Thanks for the chance to win!
Here's a link to where I blogged and included a picture (near the bottom of the post) of the last wallhanging I made. It's hard to tell from the picture but It has fun fur sewn on. I am so pleased with how it turned out (picture really doesn't do it justice) and loved using the beads, buttons, and fun fur on it!
http://kmcquary.blogspot.com/2009/05/what-weve-been-up-to.html
I'd love to win some pretty fabric or anything pretty, really!
My daughter and I love cupcake soap! She likes to pretend to serve it to people and then giggle hysterically :) (The link under the pic isn't working for me!)
I always like to toss a rainbow of buttons into a swap or giveaway box! They're so useful!
And here's somethign I recently made:

You could include a great crafting magazing! I love those!
A surprise...fun! There has been a lot of fabric...so how about something pretty for a home?
Ok.. what to give away - anything!! but with all the crafty people I'd say yarn, project bag or fabric would be my top 3 choices.
And one of my favoite things I've made lately is a Chicken gift for my neice - Dotty the Chicken!! Here's a link to my ravelry page, although I still need to put some finished pictures up:
http://tryingmydarnedest.blogspot.com/2009/05/ruffled-feathers-my-300th-post.html

Thanks for the giveaway.
Congrats on 300!!!
You are a creative girl I'm sure a surprise from you would be fabulous! But lately I'm really excited about bright, bold fabric. And I'm always into knitting.
In fact, check out this picture of one of my latest projects that absolutely makes me smile: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lovemesomeyarn/3554656804/. I hope that's good enough for some extra entries. :) Thanks!
Happy blogiversary. 300 posts, that's quite an achievement. A surprise giveaway sounds really exciting, I love surprises!
I'd really like to get some awesome trim if I win your giveaway! And pictures of a craft will *definitely* be forthcoming.
Congratulations on 300 posts! As for a creative idea, I'm not sure. Yarn? Buttons?
I think that you should include one of your favorite craft items. If you like to use buttons a lot.. then add buttons. Or lace? Add lace. :)
This is my favorite project I just made for my daughter. It is little, but it turned out cute, and I don't have much time, so...
http://cargoofjoy.blogspot.com/2009/05/project-completed-and-planting.html
I've had a great time making bags lately. Here are a couple that I made with some fun polka dot fabric:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/moseleypics/3313387303/
And my vote for the giveaway would be fabric. I am trying to build up my stash so that I can have more fun!
Congratulations on your 300th post. I'm not a blogger, but love to read them. Have learned so much. I am getting obsessed with quilting, so fabric would be nice.
Well, fabric is always a plus in any giveaway. But anything you would make would be just fabulous too! :D
Here is what I've made that makes me happy..

i think anything that you've crafted, really, would be fun - those soaps you posted are adorable! *grin*
here's my gallery on my website of all my handquilted quilts; the topmost one I finished a few months ago, although in quilt-time, I think it's close enough to "this month". *grin*
Lately I've been playing a lot with Annelies van den Bergh's International Signatuure Swap (totally awesome), the link to which is here:

Happy blogiversary.
silhouettes are somewhat in style right now.
You should giveaway the items to make a proper silhouette in black and white.
Needle point, portrait style with paper, possibilities are endless....

I love the mystery aspect of this one!! Here's a recent craft project - my second quilt (first one was very ugly, but functional!) http://www.flickr.com/photos/38457624@N05/3539357902/

:)
Hmmmm... handmade is always fabulous especially if it is a collaborative effort - you know the recipient gives you a colourway or some idea that hopefully will spark the creative process....
It isn't a concrete idea but maybe a little helpful?
Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway!

Congrat for 300 posting! Please include some fabrics, nothing creative, but I'm sure everyone will love it. Oh... and maybe your lovely cupcake soap, they look so sweet and yummy. I'll keep it away from my girl if I get it, or it might ended up in her tummy.
Real cupcakes! :) Yum!

Hmmm, anything crafty would be great, but I am a fan of books, and magazines. I love to see things that inspire me. That is why I am enjoying this SMS giveaway soo much. Great new blogs to explore.
Those are the cutest soaps I've ever seen! why not use those as the prize. I know I'd be happy to be a winner
Anything handmade is a great giveaway in my book!
I've made this butt-ugly shrug for my mom (she picked the colors). The yarn was a nightmare, the colors gave me nightmares but the pattern was sublime!
Ravelry link here:

Wow, 300 posts! That's quite an accomplishment, congratulations!
I kind of like the idea of a random grab baggie for a giveaway, with things like handmade cards, soap, something edible, some yarn...or, you know, combinations thereof.
I'm generally a knitter, but lately I've done much more sewing. I finished a stash of cloth diapers for my daughter, and am very proud of them! They're so sunny! You can see them here.
Shoot -- forgot to leave my email. onsilent_wings at yahoo dot com, or blakdove on ravelry.
Those soaps look so real. I wonder if you could make some that are craft-related for the giveaway? Pincushions, scissors, thimbles or something similar?
Those are adorable! Congrats on your blogiversary! Anything handmade is always a treat to giveaway :)Thnaks for this giveaway!

I think soap is an awesome givaway! I can never try too many different kinds. You could also give baked goods, but not in the same package.
I just finished two cute little embroideries, which are for a quilt for my niece. I am very excited about it. :)

Happy Blogoversary! Thanks for the great giveaway! I think anything that involves cover buttons would great for a giveaway (I'm a sucker for cover buttons!). Here's a link to a recent blog post that I did that shows the two owls I've made in the last few months. Happy 300th post! That's a big milestone!
I love fabric and random notions. Lots of great scraps (not too small) are also fun because it gives me a wide variety of fabric to see and prompts me to think of fun small projects to use them on.
Thanks for joining the giveaway!
Well I love craft books, but I also love crafting things, like a pattern and the supplies for it would be a neat give away. Craftaway! or something!

Maybe you could include some left-over fabric cause you seem to use a lot of fab fabrics in your projects!
You can contact me via a comment on my blog or the email provided there.
Congratulations and happy blogiversary!
Anything handmade would be good, too bad it can't be the cupcake soaps - those are awesome. I would definitely go with handmade and useful, maybe some organizational?
Anything sewing related would be good. Something you made,or supplies like fabrics, lace, or trims or any thing craft related.
I can't wait until next time an event like this is organized so i can participate too. i didn't find out until just after the deadline.
Well, if you're really motivated, you could make another one of those cute knitted girl dresses you did. Otherwise, since you have an awesome taste in yarn, a skein or two would be good. Or, for the easy (but always loved) route, some Amy Butler fabric.
OK, I love crafty supplies and crafty books, so either would be a great giveaway. And it's always nice to see handmade goodies, too.
Everyone loves new, free fabric! Any fat quarters or goodies would be wonderful :) But of course, I wouldn't turn away anything handmade!
Anything that is a giveaway is cool in my opinion. Your picture of soap just made me want to eat....how weird is that? thanks for the giveaway.
Spondah(at)aol(dot)com

I have to say something I have made recently that makes me happy is my very first handmade purse. I used the Amy Butler Birdie Sling Pattern, sized it down a little bit, and voila! You can see pictures of it on my blog, www.liztrauring.blogspot.com. It took me a long time to make but I'm proud of myself.

Wow! What a great giveaway! Thanks!
I totally thought those cupcakes were real. I got a hankering for something sweet now! But they are super cute soaps!
I saw that you didn't make these, but do you make soaps? I really haven't seen anything like that in giveaways, and homemade soap is always a special treat.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Something I recently made that made me happy: http://nnnnessa.blogspot.com/2009/05/gerard-giraffe.html

A great idea for the giveaway would be something that is native to your area - fabric, pattern, etc. Hope I win!
I think you should give away fat quarters, or you should try to make the soap :)
Congrats on your 300th post! I'm all about buttons, so I'd suggestion an assortment of buttons for the giveaway.
Love surprises!! How about including something that has surprised you, maybe something you ordered over the internet that turned out wrong or different than you thought or something you've made that surprised you!

Ok let's see...I really do need an apron for cooking, so maybe you could make and give away one of those! It's almost winter here in Australia (today's the last day of Autumn!) so perhaps something left over from your winter this year.
Ok, and one of my favourite things I've made this month is here:
http://kraftypanda.blogspot.com/2009/05/bit-fruit-batty.html
Actually I love everything I've made this month, and haven't even blogged about most of it! lol Must remedy that...
Happy Anniversary, I have no idea for what to include.
Fabric is always nice. Or some other supply. Those soaps look yummy! Soaps shouldn't look so edible.
Thanks for your generosity!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/raezen/3276074782/
some needle felting, a little knitting, and some wet felting with my daughter. so fun! ;)
something fun to include in the giveaway could be wool....my personal fave. ;) if you don't have any of that on hand, maybe some knitting needles or a pair of scissors. haven't seen many tools being offered out there.
I think embelishments would be fun, or put together a kit to make something.
I think everyone would be thrilled if you included some of those darling cupcake soaps!! Wonderful blog - very inspirational!

I think a fabulous hat or some yummy trims would be a great thing to add into the giveaway =)
