Not Sick...Would Like to Stay That Way!

I wish I could be more specific on the exact reason for this post, but alas I can only be vague. The only thing that I'd like to say is that if your sick, stay home. For no reason should you leave the house...go into work...even just to drop things off. Enough said.

I found these on Etsy in Danner's Place shop and they made me laugh. Stay healthy this season!

Serenity Now

For those lovers of Seinfeld, you'll totally get this post. If not...sorry.

It's been a hell of a week, and I've found myself saying "Serenity Now" on more than one occassion, which led me to Etsy to see if other people use this phrase. It appears that I'm not alone!

Bob Marley Crafteroo

Five days til Jamaica. Ah....can't wait! And who better to be featured in the countdown than Bob Marley? I went out to Etsy and typed in "Bob Marley" not really expecting much to come up. I was sooooo wrong! Take a peek at what I found:

Sweet Skullies

I've been toying with the idea of doing a skullies Etsy shop ever since I've been getting so many requests to knit hats and other items with skulls. But since I can't knit fast enough to keep a shop filled (especially with so many side projects going on), I thought I'd add my skulls to non-knitted items in addition to smaller knit items. So here's just a taste test of some of the things I'm thinking about.

Bleak Week

I've been off my game this week. It typically happens about this time of year, but despite the regularity of these "funks," they still catch me off guard. Winter needs to stop with crazy cold temps. I'd even take the snow back in exchange for a 40-degree day or two. With that said, I was searching for something to post today that captured how I felt...or better yet, what my soul needs. I started with a "sunshine" search on Flickr, but that was all a little over the top. So I headed over to Etsy and typed in the same thing. I found a piece of artwork in Citrus Tree's shop that sums it up perfectly.

Next week is a new week.

Can I *Really* Get Away with These?

I came across some very cute and crafty shoes in the Em and Sprout Etsy shop during my Internet travels. When I saw these shoes, I immediately thought Hannah (my 2-year-old niece) would love these. Then I realized these shoes are for ladies, and some were even in my size (which is astounding given that I wear a size 11, AKA giantess).

I'm all for super cute things--especially shoes. And I'm very much drawn to the bunny shoes below, but then I started thinking, can I really get away with these. My inner Stacey and Clinton (from TLC's What Not to Wear) keeps saying hell no! But then my inner 12-year-old (which is fairly predominant voice in my head), says hell yeah! If my feet were smaller, I'd probably go with the 12-year-old. But since I have ogre feet, Stacey and Clinton are winning (plus they know that my inner 12-year-old with convince me that these are work appropriate..."climbing the corporate ladder" shoes!). Hmm...I'm undecided. And since I have no money anyway at the moment, I have plenty of time to think (and take advice).

My First Etsy Set

I've added my first set to my Etsy shop. It's a scraflette and fingerless gloves combo. I really like the color yarn. Then again, I'm partial to orange. The cool thing is that the yarn is more a twist of yellow and pink that give off the appearance of orange.

Two New Etsy Adds

I really was on scarflette roll when I was preparing for the contest, so I decided to add a couple more pieces to my shop. Here are some pics. And don't forget about the sale!

Chilly Willie Sweater

I finished another baby sweater to add to my Etsy shop. This one is similar to the sweater I made for Mandy's baby (coming any day now!), but instead of an owl, I went with a penguin since winter is fast approaching (boo!). These sweaters knit up relatively quickly (in case you think I don't work during the days).

Sock Monkey Central

Jessica, the designwaitress, just opened her own Etsy shop where she will be selling her wonderfully cute and creative sock monkeys. She brings such a unique look to each one of them, that they really seem to have their own personalities. Great job, Jess!

An Etsy Sneak Peek

As soon as I get a tad more motivated, I plan to add my latest creations to my Etsy shop: birds on a wire-d stick. I started made these fabric birds back in June, but never got around to doing anything with them. I finally got them finished and will be putting them in my Etsy shop, one bird per day (to help up my visibility on Etsy). Until that happens, here's a sneak peak.

Let's Make a Deal!

I was contacted by another Etsy shop owner asking if I'd like to make a trade. I could pick something from her 47bonanza Etsy shop and she would get something from mine. She had her eye on my shrug:

And I picked these earrings:

But then she surprised me with a second pair since the earrings were a little less expensive then the shrug (even though I was perfectly OK with the exchange).

The trade was so much fun. It was nice to "buy" something frivelous without spending any money.
