Nothing Beats a Baby Model!

Back in the fall, I made a skully hat for Miss Shannon's soon to be baby boy. She wanted something tough, which turned out to suit Mr. Levi nicely given how tough he had to be during his few months after being born premature. Now he's two-months old and sporting the new hat. Come on...it doesn't get any cuter than this!

I hope that face isn't what he thinks of the hat....hmm.

Sweet Skullies

I've been toying with the idea of doing a skullies Etsy shop ever since I've been getting so many requests to knit hats and other items with skulls. But since I can't knit fast enough to keep a shop filled (especially with so many side projects going on), I thought I'd add my skulls to non-knitted items in addition to smaller knit items. So here's just a taste test of some of the things I'm thinking about.

Skull Hats Are a Hit...

...at least with the people Justin knows! Before Christmas, my co-worker Justin (papa of wee Ronan) put in another order for a family of skull hats and a scarf. This batch was for a mom, her 4-year-old son, and 7-year-old daughter. The daughter was very particular about wanting a hat with a purple-backed skull and a purple and black scarf with matching skulls (the pictures look more blue, but it is really quite purple). I think I need to start making more skull stuff for my Etsy store (which has been greatly neglected lately!).

Carrie Inspired Artwork

Remember the skull hat and vest I made for wee Ronan? Well, after Ronan's papa Justin received it, he was inspired to draw up this wonderful little picture. (He's an artist, if you couldn't already tell!) And he just recently got around to sharing it with me. I just love it and now think I need to knit up a set that looks like this. Hmm...

Skull Family #2

After my first collection of skull hats for the King family, I was requested to do another batch for their friends. The hats were knitted a while ago, but I was waiting to hear what colors they wanted as their accents behind the skulls. They went with the primary color approach: red, yellow, and blue. It reminds me of the small pack of crayolas you'd get at restaurants as a kid. (And check out my new tablecloth!)

Ronan's Skull Vest

After making the Baby Skull Cap for wee Ronan, his daddy asked me to make him a matching vest complete with a skull patch and skull buttons (the buttons came from this etsy shop). I think Ronan's gonna look like a little tough guy!

A Family Skull Affair

So yesterday I showed you the baby hat I made that my co-worker bought for another co-worker. Well, once he received the hat for his baby, he decided every member of his family needed one. So, I knit one for the baby's older brother, mom and dad. Such a fun project. And I just found, another member of his family wants three hats for their family!

Baby Skull Cap

I knit up a cute little baby hat with a felt skull and bow on the front. I was all set to add it to my Etsy shop, when a co-worker saw it and snatched it up for another co-worker's baby. Being a baby boy, the bow had to be removed, but the end product was just as adorable!

Funny Fabric

I have a thing for funny skulls. Mainly I like the girly skulls with the bows on their heads. But, while looking for fabric on Etsy, I came across this. Hee-hee!
