Stealing Buddha's Dinner

Jessica let me borrow her copy of Stealing Buddha's Dinner. I'm almost done and have been enjoying it very much. While reading one part, I started thinking about the different Buddha statues out there. I've always liked the laughing Buddha. It just makes me want to giggle looking at it. This thought process led me on a Buddha craft quest. Here's what I found on Etsy:

So Many Fabric Designers...So Little Time (and $)

I'm starting to feel like I fall in love with every fabric I see. Then again, a stroll through the batik and country cat aisles at the quilt store, and I realize that's not so true. Still, I'm really liking multiple fabric collections by Valori Wells. It's hard to pick which I like best!

Lillie's 5 & Dime

Found a fun little store online called Lillie's 5 & Dime. It doesn't have a ton of stuff, but sells some cute boutique-y stuff and fun vintage pieces. And I love that it's called a 5 & Dime. Too bad it isn't really priced that way. =)

One Cool Craft Room

A good craft room is something I long for but just haven't had the room for yet. Heather Bailey, another great fabric designer has a beautiful space in which to work. Think of how wonderfully creative you could be in such a cool craft room. It's as is if your brain/imagination wouldn't even have to work. The room itself would sprinkle a magical fairy dust all over you that would just make everything you create brilliant. Ahh....to dream.

My Favorites Mosaic

Shelley's pal Kristin posted the following on her blog, which Shelley sent to a bunch of friends that included me. Basically, it's like all of the emails that go around asking for your favorites, but this adds a twist by using Flickr photos. Here's the exact rules:

Pure Happiness

I hate the fact that I'm old enough to say that I haven't done something in 12 years, but I can. Until this past weekend, I haven't been on a bike in 12 years. That's just piss poor. Seriously, I remember riding my bike every day in the summer when I was kid. Now, I've gone more than a decade without ever riding one. Weird.

But, I'm pleased to announce that this past weekend, that all changed! Admist the packing and moving frenzy, Shane and I took some time off to go and buy me a bike. Odd timing, I know. But really, it's because we're moving that I wanted to get a bike. I'm going to be no more than a mile from work starting next week, and driving seems a bit unnecessary. So, my bike will be my new form of transportation. I'll still need my car somedays, and when winter hits, I'm not sure I'll be tough enough to deal with the Wisconsin weather, but I'm going to try to stick it out for as long as I can.

Here's a picture of the Trek Pure I bought. Isn't she sweet? I still need to name her. Not sure I've come up with anything better than Buttercup or Sheila. Suggestions are always welcome!

Oh, and I did take her for a spin. A great ride!
