Come on, fess up. You've always wanted a deer head trophy to mount on your wall, but you've just never been one for hunting wabbits....er, I mean Bambi. Me neither! But now you don't have to! You can have all the benefits of a large animal hanging above your mantle, without all the fuss of blood and guts. Yay!
I kid...I kid (on wanting an animal carcass on my wall, not the hunting). But I do think these resin trophies are pretty dang cute. They're by Jennifer Khoshbin. Go to her site and check out her other art as well. Very cool stuff.

The Art and Flair of Mary Blair
Just when I was becoming stumped for blog ideas, good ol' Therese enlightened me about Mary Blair. Mary Blair was a Disney master illustrator who designed things like the It’s a Small World ride, some Alice in Wonderland art direction that wasn’t used, and some Cinderella art direction. There is a book out called The Art and Flair of Mary Blair that looks pretty cool. And here are some of her illustrations and designs. You can see more here.

Cheer-Up Pics
The other day started off kind of rotten. Problems with my bike chain on the way to work, my computer locking up at work, and overall just not wanting to be working at all. So once I was finally able to get up and running, Shane sent me some random pictures to cheer me up. Hopefully you're having a good day, but if not, some of these might make you smile.

And now for a brief political break . . .
I'm sure I won't make any friends with the "right" with this post, but there really is a creative slant here....really and truly. It's what I like to call "fun with photos." You get one chance at filling in the correct caption that should go with this photo (courtesy of CNN who changed it mid-day):
Tomorrow I hope to feature the pit bull Palin goose-stepping.
And now back to our regularly scheduled crafting.

Sweater Update: All Torso
With all the free time I had over the long weekend (oh, how I wish every weekend could be that way), I made a lot of progress knitting my sweater. In fact, the entire torso is complete. I now just need to do the arms.

Let's Make a Deal!
I was contacted by another Etsy shop owner asking if I'd like to make a trade. I could pick something from her 47bonanza Etsy shop and she would get something from mine. She had her eye on my shrug:
And I picked these earrings:
But then she surprised me with a second pair since the earrings were a little less expensive then the shrug (even though I was perfectly OK with the exchange). The trade was so much fun. It was nice to "buy" something frivelous without spending any money.

Go Bucky!
This past Saturday marked the first UW Badger football game of the season. Shane and I bought tickets from a friend. We had a great time, as usual. The Badgers won. And while I put sunscreen on, I always forget the part in my hair. So now my scalp is Badger red also. I think that just makes me a true fan. Go Bucky!
In the stadium. (I know, thank you Capt. Obvious.)
Sconnie!
Is that gluten-free beer? I'm in!
A sea of red.
