Shelley's pal Kristin posted the following on her blog, which Shelley sent to a bunch of friends that included me. Basically, it's like all of the emails that go around asking for your favorites, but this adds a twist by using Flickr photos. Here's the exact rules:
If you want to play too, type your answer to each of the questions below into a Flickr search. Using only the first page, choose your favorite image, then copy and paste each of the URL's into the mosaic maker (3 columns, 4 rows). Leave a comment if you play, so I can see your results. The questions: 1. What is your first name? 2. What is your favorite food? 3. What high school did you attend? 4. What is your favorite color? 5. Who is your celebrity crush? 6. Favorite drink? 7. Dream vacation? 8. Favorite dessert? 9. What do you want to be when you grow up? 10. What do you love most in life? 11. One word to describe you. 12. Your Flickr name (or something close--I don't have a flickr account, and usernames I use elsewhere turned up no results).
You can play along, too. Here's mine:
And here are my answers:

2. What is your favorite food? Enchiladas
3. What high school did you attend? Round Lake

12. Your Flickr name (or something close--I don't have a flickr account, and usernames I use elsewhere turned up no results). Little Ruffled Feathers
Check out Shelley's, Jessica's and Barbara's mosaics, too. Then make one and leave a link in the comments.

Pure Happiness
I hate the fact that I'm old enough to say that I haven't done something in 12 years, but I can. Until this past weekend, I haven't been on a bike in 12 years. That's just piss poor. Seriously, I remember riding my bike every day in the summer when I was kid. Now, I've gone more than a decade without ever riding one. Weird.
But, I'm pleased to announce that this past weekend, that all changed! Admist the packing and moving frenzy, Shane and I took some time off to go and buy me a bike. Odd timing, I know. But really, it's because we're moving that I wanted to get a bike. I'm going to be no more than a mile from work starting next week, and driving seems a bit unnecessary. So, my bike will be my new form of transportation. I'll still need my car somedays, and when winter hits, I'm not sure I'll be tough enough to deal with the Wisconsin weather, but I'm going to try to stick it out for as long as I can.
Here's a picture of the Trek Pure I bought. Isn't she sweet? I still need to name her. Not sure I've come up with anything better than Buttercup or Sheila. Suggestions are always welcome!

Sioux Creation Story
The Creator gathered all of Creation and said,"I want to hide something from the humans until they are ready for it. It is the realization that they create their own reality.
"The salmon said, "I will bury it on the bottom of the ocean." "No. They will go there too.
"The buffalo said, "I will bury it on the Great Plains." The Creator said, "They will cut into the skin of the Earth and find it even there."

Drum Roll, Please
I bought lamps at Pier 1 a few years ago, and for whatever reason, the lampshades are completely falling apart (poor construction, in my opinion). So now that I'm moving, I thought it's time to change up the decor a bit. So I'm looking for some drum lamp shades to put on the lamps, but man, they can get pricey! I know what I want and could easily make it, but I need a plain drum shade to start with. If anyone knows where to get one for not too much moo-la, let me know. Or if any of my friends are going to IKEA in the near future, let me know, and I'll give you money to pick up the shades I want. For now, enjoy these beautiful shades that I found on Etsy and can't afford.

A New Beautiful Blog to Peruse
Ooh...take a look at Yummy Goods, a new beautiful blog I stumbled upon. The pictures she posts are gorgeous. And the bonus is that the blog author, Melissa Averinos, is also a fabric designer, which means more choices for me once I get settled in and can start sewing again. Ah...can't wait!
